Our energy system is cutting-edge and fully redundant. Batteries are 18 kilowatt Hour Fortress portable units stored in a climate controlled room and we have 12 for a total storage capacity of 216 Kilowatts. We have 140 Kyrocera Solar Panels for a total of 49,000 Watts collection capacity running 3 x Sol-Ark charge controllers to 3 x 6KVA Sunny Island inverters. Our wind turbines are Bergy tilt-up pole mounted units and they provide us with an additional 20KW of charge capacity, 10 kw for the main building and 10kw for the shore power for our dock area where we have a second independent system feeding Outback invertors and a separate storage system. Should the wind and sunshine stop we have the whole system backed up by a state of the art 2 x 25kw diesel generator system … that is the least used piece of equipment on the island.
