Beran Island Resort

Starting with an expansive rain catchment system beneath the resort, Beran Island is passively climate-controlled by the tropical rainfall we capture. Strategically built just behind the palm tree line on the windward side of the island, the resort enjoys a constant, gentle tradewind that keeps open areas cool and comfortable. Oversized ceiling fans in common areas amplify the breeze, while each room is equipped with ductless AC and cooling fans—though with our 28-kilowatt solar array, 20-kilowatt turbines generating power around the clock, and substantial battery storage, we often have so much energy that running the AC becomes the best way to use it.

The heart of the resort is the common area: an upstairs kitchen and living space where Chef Mango whips up fresh, flavorful meals after surf, kite, or dive sessions. Coffee is always ready, beers and sodas stay cold, and a large TV sets the stage for post-surf photo sessions. Family-style dinners around the generous square table are a highlight of every trip—Martin’s only rule being “wear a shirt at dinner.” With Beran’s revolving door of the world’s most fascinating surfers, adventurers, and watermen, evenings are filled with stories of epic waves, shipwrecks, treasures, and ocean lore, accompanied by freshly caught fish, garden-grown vegetables, and specialty dishes to suit every diet.

Decks surround the resort, offering panoramic ocean views where you can sip morning coffee while watching the swell fill in, check the wind, or simply relax before a freshly cooked breakfast. Seasonal fruits, cereals, and toast are available all morning, ensuring every day begins with energy, anticipation, and the unmatched thrill of life on a remote, water-bound paradise.

Our decks surround the resort, with views of the ocean you can drink your morning coffee and watch the swell fill in or check the wind direction as you wait for freshly cooked breakfast, or help yourself to fruit, toast, cereals available all morning.
